Pushpa 2 ticket prices hiked in Andhra Pradesh, highest-ever for a Telugu film

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule is leaving no stones unturned ahead of its release on December 5. The Andhra Pradesh government approved the makers’ request to increase the ticket price for Pushpa 2 premiere shows and for the first 13 days. The premiere shows will happen in the Telugu states on December 4 at 9.30 pm in selected theatres.
The cast and crew of Pushpa 2 gathered at the Yousufguda Police Grounds in Hyderabad on December 2 for the pre-release event. It was during the event that the government’s seal of approval for the ticket hike came through.
Pushpa 2 created a record for the highest-ever ticket price in Andhra Pradesh. The tickets for the premiere show of Pushpa 2 on December 4 will be sold for Rs 944 (including GST) on single screens and multiplexes. The government has also given permission to hold six shows on the release day, December 5. The single screen and multiplex tickets are priced at Rs 324.50 and Rs 413, respectively.
The government allowed the theatre owners to hold five shows for the same price from December 6 to December 17.

Earlier, the Telangana government approved the price hike for Pushpa 2, which has drawn flak. The premiere show tickets were priced at Rs 1,200, while the tickets for the release day and beyond were capped at Rs 354 (for single screens) and Rs 531 (for multiplexes).
A petition has been filed in the Telangana High Court against the price hike, which will be heard today, December 3.
