Antique 19th Century Russian 14K Gold, Opal, Demantoid & Pearl Flower Brooch
A masterfully executed piece featuring a flower made from hand carved white opal petals adorned with a demantoid (green garnet) center stone. Below the flower, a heart shaped berry made from blue/purple opal intersecting with a demantoid set leaf having a freshwater pearl at its base.
A timeless design from pre-revolutionary Russia of the 1880/90s.
Very good condition with some patina according to age. Measures 2" long x 3/4" wide (at the widest) and weighs 7.4 grams. Carries several marks, among them the 14K gold assayers mark for St. Petersburg.
