DESCRIPTION
For your consideration is this antique vaporizer in good used condition
comes in a really nice, solid original box
basically it's a small oil lamp that fits into
a stand under a holder and small metal dish
dish would be filled with something and put on stand
oil lamp would be filled and lit and put on stand
holder and dish would warm up and substance in dish
would vaporize, soothing the ills of someone in need
this device was copyrighted in France, Germany, England and Canada
in the late 1880's (see 3rd pic)
I think this could be early 1900's even
Instructions for use and safety are inside the lid
a product called "Cresolene" was warmed in the dish
It's described in the instructions as a black tarry substance
according to the box this remedy took care
of Asthma, Whooping Cough ,Diphtheria and Croup
Vaporizer stands a little over 6" tall complete
a nice example of an old medical device in a very good box
