    Description
This is a very old neurocalometer.  These were invented back in the 1920's and this is one of the earliest models.  They still make these today for training at Chiropractic Colleges.  Basically it was a very sensitive skin temperature probe with thermistors at the end of each arm.  The 2 arms were placed on opposite sides of the spine and moved up and down at different locations looking for a temperature difference, the theory being that inflammation at one spinal level on one side, like with a pinched nerve, would cause a very slight temperature elevation that this device could find, thus locating the source of the patient's pathology.  The case appears to be made of Bakelite.  The temperature probes on both arms are broken and one of the probe connecting rods is missing.  Aside from that, it is a very neat and rare piece of chiropractic medical history.  I will double box this very carefully and shipping costs will cover insurance.
