Antique EBONY WOOD HANDLE PERCUSSOR REFLEX HAMMER, a Neurologist Medical Device designed to test a patient's reflexes.
Measuring 7” long, the top of this has a tension screw which loosens to allow the handle to be removed. Additionally, the front unscrews which allows the rubber tip to be replaced.
The rubber tip edge which would gently hit the patient at different parts of the anatomy to check reflexes. As shown, the handle is in excellent condition but the rubber tip appears to have gotten too close to a heat source and is somewhat malformed.
