    Description

Offered for the first time is this rare and fabulous
early hearing aid inscribed "Rancho El Rio de
Santa Clara.  The Ranch included much of the city
of Oxnard, Ca. and the adjacent Colonial section.
I have the history of the ranch in the
    last photo.
Chances are that this horn was made from a bull
    found on their ranch.
The horn shows careful craftsmanship with
both the metal horn, with the
    simple decorative
    lines,
    and the fancy mouthpiece
The Ranch was sold to the Camarillo Family in 1860.
Such elaborate hearing aids where only available to
    the wealthy.  M
ost likely this was used by one of the
    Camarillo owners.
    The city of Camarillo, California,
    was named after them.
