THE EXACT SERIAL NUMBER OF THE MOTOR THIS PART WAS REMOVED FROM IS LISTED IN THE ITEM DESCRIPTION BELOW (MERCURY DOES NOT GO BY MODEL YEAR, THEY USE SERIAL NUMBER). THE MAJORITY OF PARTS FIT A VARIETY OF MAKES, MODELS AND YEARS THUS THE USE OF KEYWORDS IN THE SEARCH TITLE, THIS IS NOT "FALSE ADVERTISING." IT IS THE BUYERS RESPONSIBILITY TO VERIFY FITMENT TO THEIR SPECIFIC APPLICATION PRIOR TO PURCHASING IF IT IS ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE EXACT SERIAL NUMBER IT WAS REMOVED FROM. THIS IS A USED OEM 20 MID SECTION FROM A 2002 MERCURY 3.0 LITER V-6 300X EFI MOTOR
WE ARE PARTING OUT (SERIAL NUMBER ON MOTOR IT WAS REMOVED FROM WAS 0T430405, IF YOU NEED TO LOOK UP ALTERNATE APPLICATIONS). THIS MAY FIT MANY MODELS AND YEARS OF MERCURY/MARINER OUTBOARD, BUT PLEASE CONSULT YOUR LOCAL DEALER IF YOU ARE NOT CERTAIN AND PLANNING ON INSTALLING IT ON ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT IT WAS REMOVED FROM. THIS WAS REMOVED FROM A MOTOR THAT HAD PORT SIDE CENTER PISTON MELT DOWN SO WE ARE PARTING THE ENTIRE MOTOR OUT. THIS IS IN USED CONDITION. HERE IS THE HISTORY AND CONDITION OF THIS ITEM. I HAVE OWNED AND USED THIS MID FOR THE PAST 6 YEARS ON MY BOAT AND USED IT EXCLUSIVELY IN FRESH WATER THAT ENTIRE TIME. PRIOR TO ME OWNING IT THOUGH IT WAS IN SALT WATER AND THAT IT THE REASON IT IS BEING SOLD COMPLETE. I CAN NOT GET THE 4 BOLTS FROM THE TILLER ARM TO COME OUT AS THEY ARE STUCK FROM CORROSION. I AM GUESSING IF YOU HEAT THEM WITH A OXY-
ACETYLENE TORCH YOU MAY BE ABLE TO GET THEM TO FREE UP AND COME OUT, BUT I TRIED WITH MAP GAS AND IT WAS NOT HOT ENOUGH TO GET THEM TO BUDGE AND ONE OF THE TOP ALLEN BOLT HEADS PARTIALLY STRIPPED OUT TRYING TO REMOVE IT. THE MID SECTION HAS NO CRACKS ON IT AND HAS NO PREVIOUS WELDS OR REPAIRS ON IT. THERE ARE 3 SCRATCHES ON THE TOP OF THE CAN THAT WOULD BE JUST BELOW THE SKIRT WHEN THE COWLS ARE ON THAT WILL BE VISIBLE, BUT ALL THE OTHER CHIPS AND SCRATCHES ON IT ARE HIDDEN BY THE SKIRT WHEN IT IS ON THE MOTOR. THE TRANSOM BRACKETS ARE MISSING THE LOWER ANODE CROSS OVER PIECE AND THE BRACKET ABOVE IT HAS A CRACK IN IT, BOTH THOSE ISSUES WERE LIKE THAT WHEN I GOT THE MOTOR AND I USED IT FOR 6 YEARS AND ABOUT 200 HOURS WITH NO ISSUE. THE TILLER ARM PIVOT BUSHINGS DO HAVE WEAR IN THEM AND WILL NEED TO BE SERVICED, AND I WILL INCLUDE BRAND NEW OEM ONES FOR YOU TO REPLACE THEM. I WAS GOING TO REPLACE THEM THIS WINTER, BUT ONCE THE MOTOR LOST A PISTON I JUST RE-RIGGED IT WITH AN ENTIRE NEW MOTOR THIS YEAR. THE LITTLE LATCH ON THE SIDE OF THE TRANSOM BRACKET IS STUCK FROM SALT WATER USE AS WELL. THIS MID WILL INCLUDE THE PARTS YOU SEE IN THE PHOTOS. THE 20 INCH MID SECTION, THE EXHAUST ADAPTER PLATE ASSEMBLY, THE TILLER ARM AND THE POWER TRIM (SINGLE RAM OFFSHORE TYPE) AND THE TRANSOM BRACKETS. YOU COULD BOLT THIS ON AND USE IT "AS IS" AS I WAS USING IT THE WAY YOU SEE. BUT I WOULD SUGGEST SPENDING THE TIME TO TAKE IT APART AND REPLACE THE WORN BUSHINGS AND GET THE BOLTS FREED UP. THIS IS ALL 300x STUFF SO IT IS THE DESIRABLE PARTS THAT DO NOT COME UP THAT OFTEN AS NOT MANY 300X'S ARE PARTED OUT.
