Description
Pair of William Adams Palestine #3 Red Transferware 8 3/8" Plates C. 1830-1840 BStunning pair of red transferware ironstone plates in the Palestine # 3 pattern / from the Palestine series by William Adams. Both plates have the same scene with a man on horseback, two men standing, and two people in a tent in the background. They have the Palestine mark used by Adams, as well as the impressed Adams mark. Circa 1830s to 1840s. One of the plates is a slightly darker red than the other.
One of the plates has some knife marks and usage wear consistent with age and two very small spots of discoloration, but appears to be in otherwise excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The other plate does not appear to have any knife marks or usage wear, but does have a hairline crack in the center on the back about 3 inch long. It is not visible from the front. Both plates display well.
Each plate measures approximately 8 3/8 inches wide.
These are antiques and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the pieces.
