    ARTILLERY SHELL LIFTING PLUG
    This auction is for
    ONE
    WWII 2" diameter artillery shell lifting plug.
    The lifting plugs are found on the Mojave Desert with other WWII artillery items where they were discarded after being used more than 75+ years ago. They have what I call a "Desert Patina".  I brush the loose dirt off.
    The heavy artillery shells were crated on pallets, and the lifting rings screwed into the fuze cavity so they could be lifted.
    Makes a great, unusual addition to your military collection, or use as a paperweight.   Can easily be cleaned up and painted the color of the shells they were screwed in to (HE, AP, Chemical, etc.).
